Version 1H Tail Light Overlays

A customer helped us create a version 1H tail light overlay for halogen tail lights (not compatible with LED tail lights).  This simple design knocks out the white in the tail light giving your vehicle a slightly more aftermarket look.

In our installation video we give you some techniques for overlaying your tails.  Note that it was done on an LED equipped vehicle, but the techniques carry over.

We provide a variety of materials you can get these in.  Start a theme for your vehicle and mix it with our other vinyl products.

1. Dark Smoke -  Standard dark smoke material.  Made in Germany.
2. Dark Smoke LX+ - Premium dark smoke material with air egress channels for ease of installation (helps prevents bubbles).  Made in the USA.
3. Light Smoke - Standard light smoke material.  Made in Germany.
4. Dark Smoke Stealth - Premium dark smoke MATTE material with air egress channels for ease of installation (helps prevents bubbles).  Made in the USA.
5. Dark Smoke Honeycomb - Premium dark smoke material with air egress channels for ease of installation (helps prevents bubbles).  Modified light pattern when lit.  Made in the USA.
6. Dark Smoke Carbon Fiber - Premium dark smoke material with air egress channels for ease of installation (helps prevents bubbles).  Modified light pattern when lit.  Made in the USA.
7. Dark Smoke Galaxy - Premium dark smoke material with air egress channels for ease of installation (helps prevents bubbles).  A galaxy full of metallic flake in the light.  Appears similar to standard dark smoke when backlit.  Made in the USA.
8.  Red - Standard red material.  Made in Germany.

Instructions

Items you may want to have:

• Detail Spray (without wax) or glass cleaner
• Microfiber Towel or Paper Towel
• Dish with soapy water (few drops of dish soap + 1-2 cups of water)
• Felt Lined Squeegee (optional)
• Heat gun or hair dryer (optional)

Clean the application area to prepare it for installation.  Do not use a spray with any type of wax in it.

You can tell which side is which by the angled design on the bottom of the overlays.  Use the video below as a guide of how to handle the material.

A wet installation is recommended.  Use slightly soapy water on the back of the vinyl.  This will allow you to move the vinyl around and find the correct alignment.  Once aligned, use your fingers or a felt tip squeegee to push out the water/air.  Allow the vinyl to dry.
