With the introduction of the new Kartboy solid linkages, the TiC team has come up with a kit update. So, here it is, the STi Super Solid Shifter Set. This kit is made up of six parts. The KB 5spd Shift Linkage w/ Clevis, the Kartboy Front AND Rear Shifter Stay Bushing, the KB Tallboy Shift Lever, and the TiC 5MT pivot bushings. If you need the regular shifter, click HERE!

To understand how this works you have to understand what each part does. The OEM setup uses a rubber-isolated joint that wears over time and absorbs shift input instead of transferring it directly to the transmission. The Kartboy solid shift joint replaces that factory assembly with a precision machined solid connection for a more direct and consistent gear change. The Kartboy solid shift joint features solid stainless machined center cross tubes, press-fit bronze bushings, and precision machined stainless crush tubes for a bind-free design while still allowing proper bolt torque - this is a component built to last. The Kartboy Front and Rear Stay bushings replace the two soft rubber stay bushings that come stock on the car. There are two hard mounting points for the shift lever assembly, and Subaru (for some unknown reason) decided to use really soft rubber for each one. The problem this creates is a vague sloppy feeling in the fore/aft motion of the stick which just leaves you with a blah feeling when you shift the car. Kartboy's bushings fix this by using a much stiffer urethane to replace each one making the shifting experience much better than what you are used to. Each gear will snap into place with a nice positive click, and that vague feeling you get at the end of the stick travel will be gone.

This is it - THE original American Made Shift. It’s what started the Kartboy legend. And you, mere mortal, can own a piece of that legend. But wait. Something is different. It's...taller? That's right, this is the TALLBOY version of the original Kartboy RS shifter, inspired by the TiC x KB TALLBOY 6spd shifter! And If you choose to accept such a righteous path you’ll be rewarded with up to 40% shorter shift throws - the perfect reduction for living out your Colin McRae fantasies. All while being approximately the same height as your stock shifter. Such a thing of beauty is built with CNC machined and TIG welded steel that you’ll contemplate throwing your shift boot at a peasant, but you should definitely reinstall it - fries in the system are bad, you legend in the making.

When you combine these bushings with the lever you get a shifter setup that just begs to be snapped from gear to gear, and makes your entire driving experience much more enjoyable.
