TiC Subaru 5MT Pivot Bushings Install

Things you will need:

2 12mm wrenches, open, box end, sockets whatever
Screwdriver or something to push the old bushings out
12mm socket on a small torque wrench
Some nice thick grease (we prefer wheel bearing grease)
Coffee, a soda or your favorite caffeinated (NON-ALCOHOLIC) beverage - This is a requirement

Step 1
Take a sip of your beverage
Pull apart your center console so you can get to the shifter

Step 2
Unbolt the pivot using two 12mm wrenches
The bolt is shown in the image below, and is labled 12mm

Step 3
Take a sip of your beverage
Push the sleeve out of the bushings.
Use your screwdriver to push the old bushings out of the pivot point
You'll end up with something like this:

Step 4
Press the new TiC 5MT Pivot Bushings into each side of the pivot point on the lever
Press the new sleeve into the bushings
You should be able to do both of these things with just your fingers

Step 5
Take a sip of your beverage
Put some grease on the flanges of the bushing, and the inside of the fork on the control rod. Let me say that again just to emphasize how important it is - USE SOME GREASE!!!
Push the pivot back into the fork (it will be a tight fit).

Step 6
Insert the bolt and tighten to 8.3 lbs. Let me say that again 8.3 lbs. If you go too tight it will feel yucky.

Step 7
Reassemble center console

Step 8
Finish your beverage and go for a drive (remember to recycle)
